Welcome to my little K99 korner!!!!
I'm originally from Horicon, Wisconsin. A proud graduate of St. Malachy Catholic School. Class of '74! Go, Raiders! HHS Class of '78! Go, Marshmen! I'm also a 1985 grad of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Theatre. Go Blugolds! Upon graduating from UWEC, my wife Lisa & I spent a few years working in professional theatre in the Twin Cities with stops at the Guthrie, Chanhassen & CLIMB, just to name a few.
How did I end up here? When you marry the farmer's daughter sooner or later you end up on the farm.
In 1989, we moved to Goodrich to work the family dairy farm. Because my wife Lisa felt I needed a "hobby", I applied and was accepted at WIGM FM, the Cool FM, as a part time night DJ. First solo "on air" shift, Labor Day night 1993. In March 1994, I became the full time afternoon DJ & copy writer. So long farm, hello radio!
Since coming to the Medford area, I've done some Youth Basketball & T-Ball Coaching and, because once you're bitten by the "theatre bug" you're never cured, I am a co-founder & current president of the Medford Area Community Theatre.
One of the great "perks" of working here at K99 is the opportunity to get out and broadcast area high school games. Nothing brings our community together like supporting our young people. But, remember, it's just a game...we do this because it's fun.
My dad once told me, "Most people work so they can make money to do something else. The lucky ones are those who get paid to do what they love." Count me among the lucky ones!
