About Dave F
"Welcome to McDonalds, may I take your order please?"
Without those words, and my first full time job at McDonalds I doubt I would be in Radio today. Kind customers in the Mcdonalds Drive-Thru starting in 1992 would comment, I think you should be on the Radio! I graduated in 1993 from Medford Area Senior High, went of to college at UWSP. I found that they had a student run radio station and I volunteered. Second Semester I had my first Air Shift, Noon till Three on 89.9 WWSP 90 FM... and I was rocking the potatoe belt! After 1 year in College, I took a permenant break and headed back to Medford. Luckily for me in 1995 I started recording commercials for WIGM part - time. Soon, the Receptionist/Traffic Coordinator position opened up at the station. I applied and my journey really began. Good thing for me I learned quickly and was willing to wear some additional hats... "I'm not much of a receptionist." I did find a half a dozen other ways to make myself usefull around the station. If there ever was a Jack of all trades and master of none in the Radio Business, I think that would be me. Some people call this a job, or career.... I call it my life.... it used to be #1. Currently it sits at #6 behind My wife Anne, and my three Daughters, Alexis, Hannah, Naomi, and my Son Jacob.
